The Front Porch Movement was created to slow that moment down and focus on the stories that matter. Through thoughtful journalism and community storytelling, we connect audiences with diverse voices and lived experiences that inform, inspire, and help us better understand one another.

People who encounter our work often tell us that these conversations feel different. One supporter described the stories as “interesting and intelligent,” adding: “This is amazing. This is human. This is how people are feeling.” She believes the conversations we create can move people, build understanding, and inspire stronger community engagement.

We believe that too. Our goal is to produce more stories, in more communities, with more diverse voices—stories that help people better understand one another and the issues shaping our future.
